“Tesla is on track to cover the losses from the Trump-Musk feud, as its CEO set a tentative date for the Robotaxi launch in Austin. This can instil confidence in the high-stakes pivot to autonomous driving, but the path is likely to remain rocky.

“Scaling the venture successfully will likely depend on a more flexible and streamlined regulatory framework. However, Musk’s rift with the US President raises doubts over whether supportive policies will materialise.

“Tesla needs a victory here to renew excitement and regain control of the narrative. Brand damage, weak sales, deteriorating financials, and intensifying competition – especially from Chinese EV makers like BYD – have created a difficult environment.”
